Margaret Chester, MPH, RYT, is a health educator, author, office manager, writer, mom, sister, spouse, yoga student, and teacher. She has a passion for sharing the idea that yoga is not all about folding yourself into a pretzel - yoga is a lifestyle. These yoga concepts and practices are intuitive, accessible, and easy to incorporate into your everyday life. No special equipment, clothes, diet foods, or yoga experience is necessary Margaret is known for her sense of humor, “microwave yoga”, and the ability to incorporate ancient yoga techniques with a modern twist.

Margaret is a lifelong advocate of preventative health care, and how to survive and thrive in a chaotic world. She believes that we all have the answers within ourselves, however, we all get stuck in the story of our lives. Margaret has created highly individualized multi-faceted stress, weight, and aging management programs for people of all ages. She has also worked in the hospice field which has constantly reminded her that we will never know what our future will bring. Hence her philosophy: If you don’t live your life, who will?

Margaret has a B.A. in Philosophy, Religion, and Sociology, a Master’s in Public Health – Health Education, and has been a Registered Yoga Teacher since 2001. She taught herself yoga out of a book when she was sixteen years old and has pursued a lifetime of classes, workshops, training, and certifications. Margaret is not afraid to say: “I don’t know, let's figure this out together.”

She is the author of Chocolate Yoga: A System of Yoga Techniques for Stress and Weight Management; A Chocolate Yoga Action Workbook, and her latest: Yoga for Ageless Seniors – Daily Prescriptions for Increasing Strength, Balance, and Resilience. She is passionate about finding practical and fun ways to bring yoga techniques to your everyday life. This yoga is not about standing on your head or folding yourself into a pretzel. It’s all about living in the body that you have today. We are living in challenging times and it is often difficult to find the time to take care of ourselves. As Margaret likes to say: “If you can breathe, you can do this yoga.”

Margaret has recently published a trilogy that is available as e-books on amazon.com. they are Ms. Tami & The Heart Sutra, Ms. Cascadia & The Temple of Impermanance, and Ms. Bella & The Red Thread. Each story can be read as a stand-alone story or in any order. They are all connected with themes of growing up, dealing with the reality of life and death, and finding your voice. She hopes you enjoy them and welcomes any feedback.

She is currently working on a historical novel and looking forward to finding new paths up the mountain every day.
